Operating Room Technician

Local travel contract offers a 13-week assignment for an experienced Operating Room Technician in Hollister, CA, with weekly pay up to $2,100 based on experience. The role supports surgical teams in a fast-paced environment, ensuring sterile technique and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team during operations
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols
• Pass surgical instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical staff as needed
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other supplies
• Clean, disinfect, and restock operating rooms following procedures
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment properly
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Communicate effectively with members of the surgical and healthcare teams
• Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate support in the Operating Room

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or Operating Room Technician program preferred
• Current California OR Tech certification or license required
• Current BLS certification required
• National certification such as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred, when applicable
• Must meet all facility-specific credentialing and compliance requirements
