Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered respiratory care in a setting that upholds best practices and fosters relationship-based care. Deliver respiratory therapy in accordance with professional standards, including the AARC Code of Ethics and relevant state respiratory care regulations. Demonstrate expertise in respiratory assessments, treatment modalities, life support certifications, critical thinking, and prioritization. Commit to ongoing professional development and educational growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assessment

  a. Conduct thorough age-specific assessments and reassessments. b. Collaborate with family members, significant others, and healthcare providers to gather comprehensive medical histories. Document findings per unit policy.

• Diagnosis

  a. Identify actual or potential physical, psychosocial, cultural, religious, safety, infection control, environmental, and educational needs. b. Prioritize patient care based on assessment data. c. Interpret findings to prepare patient and family education plans.

• Planning/Outcome

  a. Work with healthcare team members to develop and adjust individualized care and discharge plans. b. Create care and education plans aligned with standards of practice to achieve optimal patient outcomes. c. Modify plans based on patient condition changes and input from patients and families.

• Implementation

  a. Deliver age-appropriate care according to established plans and patient priorities. b. Apply evidence-based interventions tailored to diagnoses. c. Utilize community resources to support care plans and coordinate access. d. Collaborate with caregivers to ensure cohesive plan execution.

• Evaluation

  a. Assess effectiveness of respiratory interventions. b. Monitor patient responses relative to expected outcomes. c. Adjust care plans based on evaluations and feedback. d. Evaluate patient and family responses to education.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Associate Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Must obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care within one year of hire and maintain active status.
• Licensed as an active Respiratory Care Provider by the appropriate state health professions bureau.
