Field Service TechnicianSITECH West is seeking a Field Service Technician to install GPS and Laser based positioning & data products on various makes and models of Construction equipment. In addition to equipment installations, you will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair these systems ensuring that our customers are productive. If you love big machines, the latest technology, working outside with your hands, and a family atmosphere, then this may be the new career for you!THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN SACRAMENTO.POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for the installation, service, and repair of GPS and laser based positioning & data products on various makes and models of construction equipment.PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONSWelding certification or ability to demonstrate welding proficiency. Working knowledge of hydraulic system installation and repair. Ability to read and understand wiring schematics used in installation and troubleshooting.REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDiagnose and repair construction technology equipment, with emphasis on Laser, GPS, and Robotic controls.Prepare accurate estimates for customer repairs.Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently, work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts.Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met.Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner.Assist with Operator Training.Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area.Assist with ordering parts and organizing the parts warehouse.Data entry as required.Perform other duties as assigned.SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.Ability to apply to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral instructions.Ability to problem solve involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh school or GED and one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust have a valid class C driver license and a clean D.M.V. report.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
