Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650
• Employment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m./7:30 p.m.; 3 or 4 shifts per week
• Scheduling: Block scheduling may be accommodated
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6–7 patients
• Unit Focus: Medical-surgical, orthopedic, and medical-surgical/telemetry overflow
• Eligibility: Applicants must reside at least 90 miles from the assignment location; local candidates are not eligible

Medical-Surgical Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; highly experienced candidates may be considered individually
• Experience working in a large healthcare facility preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Proficiency with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management of cardiac drips
• Experience titrating Cardizem, Tridil, and amiodarone infusions
• COVID-19 vaccination required; approved medical or religious exemptions may be considered
• Influenza vaccination required

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Manage patient assignments with a typical 1:6–7 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor patients requiring telemetry and recognize, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias
• Safely administer and titrate cardiac infusions, including Cardizem, Tridil, and amiodarone, according to orders and policy
• Perform assessments, administer medications, implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate with the care team to initiate timely interventions
• Coordinate care with rehabilitation, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, social services, rapid response, and other interdisciplinary teams
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team
• Complete required documentation and maintain a high standard of patient safety and clinical quality
