If you're looking for a safety-first environment where you can develop leadership skills, expand technical capabilities, and drive results, then GMI Geneva is an excellent place to build your career.What We Have to Offer$41.58 per hour up to $46.72 per hour depending upon skillset and experienceTech I: $41.58 per hourTech II: $46.72 per hourTech III: $52.54 per hour (Internal Advancement Opportunity)Rates include $2.00 per hour for rotation shift differentialUp to 120 hours of vacation annually11 paid company holidays401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, life insuranceCareer growth and cross-training opportunitiesYour Work Schedule and Shift InformationWe prioritize work life balance, health and wellness, and equal access to resources for development opportunities and advancement.12-hour shifts (rotating - see Shift Schedule and Rotation below – work times may change while training)Day shift: 5:30 am to 6:00 pmNight shift: 5:30 pm to 6:00 amShift Schedule and Rotation2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 offEach work block rotates from day to nightSchedule Perks182 Scheduled Days Off Per YearEvery other weekend is a 3-day weekendAbility and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and emergency eventsPlant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a weekKEY ACCOUNTABILITIESAs part of our manufacturing team, you will:Manage, operate and maintain all buildings, utilities and support equipment including but not limited to ammonia refrigeration system, boilers and steam system, air compressors, fire system and fire suppression systems, building plumbing, building electrical, and HPHW systemPerform duties to ensure operational efficiency of plant and building equipment by scheduling routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment as neededPerform daily rounds/checks of ammonia systemProvide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and modificationLearn, follow, and engage in Process Safety Management (PSM)Perform both uptime and downtime preventative maintenanceAssist maintenance technicians as neededUnderstand, initiate, and participate in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why)Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performanceAssist in training new employeesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of a high school diploma or GEDMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)1 year (minimum) experience of industrial ammonia refrigeration system1 year (minimum) experience with boilers and low-pressure steamExperience with Mechanical Utilities Systems (Compressed Air, Vacuum, Hydraulics)Experience with process water distribution; wastewater handling and treatmentWorking knowledge of industrial, mechanical and electrical technologiesExperience with State and Federal EPA permits/compliance and/or PSM/ARM program complianceProject management experience including construction managementOperator (CARO/CIRO) certification preferredIncident command and/or HAZWOPPER program experience preferredBasic computer skills with the ability to use digital tools and systems to complete daily work tasksAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periodsWillingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditionsAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platformsAbility to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standardsAbility to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment - PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergensELIGIBILITYApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER (EOE)General Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
