Transporter (Limited Part-Time | 16 hours per week)

Schedule & Availability

• Must be available between 10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

• Note: Students are not being considered at this time

Preferred

• Previous healthcare experience strongly preferred

Position Summary

Responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients (and any necessary equipment) between units, treatment areas, and designated locations

• Deliver supplies, equipment, medications, and materials accurately and on time

• Ensure proper handoff of medications to nursing staff

• Perform routine inspection and disinfection of transport equipment

• Accurately document transport activities using the Transport Tracking System and/or manual logs

• Communicate transport status and report any delays or issues to leadership

• Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff at all times

• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions to complete transport duties safely and effectively

• Must be able to operate transport equipment appropriately

• May have access to areas where medications are stored and may transport medications while accompanying patients

• Medication transport is limited to department-to-department transfer only

Licensure, Certifications & Clearances

• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Must be obtained within 30 days of hire

• Certification must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards, including both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration

• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal)

• Act 33 Clearance (with renewal)

• Act 34 Clearance (with renewal)

• Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)
