Position: High Risk Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled High Risk Labor & Delivery RN to join our team. This position requires a strong commitment to nursing excellence in an acute patient care setting, focusing on assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care. The ideal candidate will provide holistic and individualized care, ensuring the smooth transition of care for patients and their families.

Shift

Night Shift: 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including comprehensive assessment and monitoring.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote collaborative care and timely communication.
• Educate patients and families about care procedures and transitions.

Requirements

• Current California RN Licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• AWHONN Intermediate certification
• EKG testing required on-site (minimum 80% passing score)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery (OB)
• Weekend rotation availability required
• Epic System experience is mandatory

Desired Skills

• Administration of blood and blood products
• Assistance with high-risk delivery and sterile speculum exams
• Labor and delivery care including C-sections
• Newborn assessments and breastfeeding support
• Care management of antepartum and postpartum patients
• Effective pain assessment and management
• Proficient use of fetal monitoring systems and infusion pumps

Unit Details

• Average of 250-300 deliveries per month
• Unit Capacity: 26 rooms, 20 beds
• Interdisciplinary support available from various healthcare professionals

Compliance Information

• Successful completion of required orientations and onboarding processes.
• Verification of a 7-year work history is mandatory.
