About the role: The Associate Director of Organizing, Michigan Campaigns (Associate Director) will be responsible for developing and executing a statewide organizing plan and will manage all aspects of the campaign’s organizing program from managing Organizers to GOTV and Election Day activities. The Associate Director will lead the design and execution of a comprehensive statewide organizing plan to engage and mobilize voters, directly manage and support Organizers across Michigan, and collaborate with state and national leadership to strengthen organizing efforts, track progress through data systems, and ensure effective communication and alignment on key goals. The ideal candidate is an experienced campaign organizer with at least 2 cycles of field and staff management experience, skilled in VAN, GSuite, and volunteer recruitment and training; they will bring strong organizational and leadership abilities, a collaborative and goal-oriented work style, and a deep commitment to equity and cross-cultural awareness; they possess extensive knowledge of the Michigan organizing landscape and are flexible to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed to meet campaign goals. Location: This position will be located in the metro Detroit area and require both remote and in-person work. Reports to: Director of Michigan Campaigns Positions Directly Reporting to this Position: Michigan Organizers This Position Is: Full-Time, Exempt, Non-union, Temporary through January 15, 2027 with the possibility to extend Responsibilities: Design and implement a field plan to target, engage, persuade and turn out voters Collaborate with the Director of Michigan Campaigns and other key stakeholders to strengthen existing organizing efforts and recruit volunteers to Michigan Action Councils Supervise Organizers throughout Michigan and ensure the program remains on track for success, including providing support to and leading a team of Organizers Build and mobilize a state-wide pool of volunteers, members, and activists Grow our general organizing and political work to leverage political power as we confront historic threats to reproductive freedom Build systems to analyze data and regularly communicate key metrics to Organizing and Campaigns leadership Maintain consistent communication with Organizers to build skills, professionally develop, and mentor Act as a liaison between Organizers and Director of Michigan Campaigns to ensure timeliness on deliverables Actively track progress to goals and organizational health, and work alongside the Director of State Campaigns to grow programmatic organizing performance across the states Incorporate a deep commitment to equity and cross-cultural awareness into the approach to organizing work Standard working hours generally fall on Monday through Friday, but flexibility is required, including evenings and weekends, especially closer to the election Other duties may be assigned that are consistent with the requirements and qualifications in this job description Qualifications: 2+ cycles of campaign organizing experience, including at least 2 cycles of staff management experience Proficiency in VAN, GSuite, and relational texting platforms Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on electoral or issue in a culturally competent manner A self-motivated and collaborative individual with a demonstrated track record of achieving goals and meeting deadlines, while remaining flexible in the face of changing priorities Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail Willingness to collaborate in a team environment to solve complex problems and work across departments when necessary to meet long term goals Commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability Must be able to lead and attend in-person events; access to a vehicle/valid driver's license required, willingness to travel across Michigan Significant knowledge and understanding of Michigan organizing landscape and dynamics; ability to use that knowledge to make informed decisions about the organization’s approach with key stakeholders across Michigan and effectively navigate any complex dynamics Demonstrated commitment to ensuring anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of the organizing program Strong supervisory skills and experience with an intersectional approach to managing staff Ability to mentor and develop multiple full-time staff members Proven track record of supporting staff in building skills where gaps may exist and creating an environment of ownership and accountability Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce and sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural differences Demonstrated commitment to Reproductive Freedom for All’s mission, values, and goals Optional: Nice-to-haves: Familiarity with 501 (C)3 and 501 (C)4 funding mechanisms Reproductive Freedom for All does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, or political affiliation.
