Assistant Director of Clinical Operations (DDS/DMD) R-0002779 Joplin Campus Job Type: Faculty Job Description: The Assistant Director of Clinical Operations serves as a leader inthe College of Dental Medicine. The incumbent supports thestrategic planning, administration, and daily management ofclinical programs within the CDM Oral Health Center (OHC). Thisrole ensures efficient clinic operations, sufficient faculty forsupervision of clinical education, high-quality patient care,regulatory compliance, and an optimal learning environment forstudents, residents, and faculty. The position works closely withclinical leadership, academic leadership, and administrative teamsto align clinical services with KCU CDM's mission. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the Assistant Dean for IntegratedBiomedical and Clinical Sciences, Assistant Dean for Curriculum andIntegrated Learning, CDM Administration, clinical faculty and staffto provide care for patients at the OHC; Oversee day-to-day operations of the Oral Health Center,including monitoring patient flow, scheduling efficiency, andclinic utilization; Develop and implement operational policies and procedures toimprove clinical education & performance; Strong communication skills to effectively communicate withfaculty and team members regarding patient care goals, operationalactivities and issues, staff feedback and concerns, andproblem-solving regarding patient care for medically complexpatients; Participate in annual operational budgeting process andeffectively manage resources to achieve objectives withinestablished budget parameters; Identify and recommend to CDM Leadership Team improvements forprocess and productivity initiatives designed to improve patientcare and clinical education; Serve as a role model and mentor for students and faculty forclinical skills education when caring for OHC patients; Assist in the education and calibration of faculty and teammembers for clinic policy and procedures on management of dentalpatients; Support accreditation processes and maintain readiness for sitevisits; Supervise clinical auxiliary personnel; Optimize use of OHC resources, equipment, andsupplies; Work on special projects and other duties asassigned. Qualifications: Doctor of Dental Medicine or Doctor of Dental Surgery degreewith experience in dental practice including direct patient careand the operations associated with caring for medically complexpatients; Organizational skills necessary to coordinate all aspectsclinical operations; Knowledgeable and able to use an electronic dental record,practice management systems, and various computer applications suchas Microsoft Office; Demonstrate strong interpersonal customer service andcommunication skills to create a positive and caring clinicalenvironment; Hold a Missouri dental license or have the qualifications toobtain one.
