Sanders Brothers Construction Company is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Sweeper Truck Driver/Operator to support operations throughout the Charleston area. This position operates a CDL broom sweeper truck on scheduled routes servicing road construction projects, municipalities, residential developments, and other job sites throughout Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.
The sweeper truck removes roadway debris such as broken pavement, asphalt and concrete millings, mud, construction materials, and other waste caused by construction activity or weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Review assigned routes and communicate with supervisors when clarification is needed
• Safely operate a CDL broom sweeper truck on assigned routes and job sites
• Complete scheduled jobs efficiently while maintaining high-quality work standards
• Exercise caution and safe driving practices during inclement weather
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns promptly
• Maintain DOT driving qualifications and compliance requirements
• Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed within DOT regulations
• Operate in varying outdoor environments including dust, noise, mud, rain, and extreme temperatures
• Keep company vehicles clean, organized, and properly maintained
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL with an acceptable driving record
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug testing
• Ability to meet company background check requirements
• Previous experience operating commercial vehicles or construction equipment preferred
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and professionalism

Physical & Environmental Requirements
This role involves active physical work and outdoor exposure in varying weather conditions. Duties may include:

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50+ pounds
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching for extended periods
• Operating equipment and driving for long durations
• Working in dusty, noisy, wet, or high-temperature environments
• Using appropriate personal protective equipment including eye and ear protection
