Emergency Medical Technician

Pool Emergency Medical TechnicianThe Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) within a hospital setting provides essential emergency care and support to patients in critical situations. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, administering basic life support, and assisting with advanced medical procedures under the direction of healthcare professionals. EMTs collaborate with hospital staff to ensure efficient patient transport within the facility and to external medical facilities as needed. They maintain readiness of medical equipment, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and document patient information accurately. Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential for success in this role.Essential Functions:Performs patient care tasks in a safe and competent manner without deviation from the standard of care or hospital policy and procedureCoordinates care with the RN and other interdisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomesDemonstrates ability to recognize changes in patient status and report changes to RN immediately and assist in providing appropriate interventions in a timely mannerMaintains complete and timely documentation that assures accurate reflection of care providedMaintains communication with RN throughout entire shift to ensure accuracy of information and care providedPromptly responds to patients request for assistance in professional and effective mannerCompletes EKG's for acute chest pain in a timely fashionPerforms other duties as assigned in an engaged and positive mannerInteracts with physicians, patients, visitors, department staff and other hospital staff members in a professional manner and responds to requests in a timely mannerHandles daily departmental tasks, as needed, without direct prompting and supervisionPerforms other functions as assigned which may include assuring a clean environment, basic housekeeping, restocking equipment or supplies, report damaged or unsafe/malfunctioning equipment according to policyPerforms all other duties as assigned in an engaged and cooperative mannerPerforms other duties as assigned in a positive and engagedQualifications:Technical Program Emergency Medical Technology License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact StateEmergency Medical Technician CertificationBasic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationThree years' experience in a clinical settingPrimary Location: Crystal RiverWork Locations: TGH Crystal River 6201 N Suncoast Boulevard Crystal River 34428Eligible for Remote Work: On SiteJob: Nursing (Technical/Clerical) Organization: Tampa General Hospital-Citrus Schedule: Per Diem/Pool Shift: Evening Job Job Type: On Site Shift Hours: as needed Minimum Salary: 18.75
