Registered Nurse (RN) - ED - Emergency Department - $60 per hour

Job Title & Location Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey Job Summary The Registered Nurse is a clinically competent nursing professional with expertise in the assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The RN engages in a variety of direct patient/family care activities and must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to patient age groups ranging from neonate to adult/geriatric as required. Essential Functions Demonstrate problem solving skills through application of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) on an assigned unit. Demonstrate competence in clinical practice through the provision of total patient care. Demonstrate leadership skills by contributing to a positive and collaborative patient care environment. Enact the Registered Nurse role in a manner that promotes professional growth and development. Demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care through participation in unit and departmental quality improvement activities. Assume the role of patient advocate through the upholding of patients' legal, ethical and moral rights. Ensuring that care delivered is specific to the age, growth and development of neonates, pediatric and adult/geriatric patients as required. Participates in all medical center performance improvement activities and will practice and demonstrate the principles of CQI in daily work assignments. Performs responsibilities with a deep commitment to human dignity, respect and basic human rights; and expands this commitment to all working relationships with patients, visitors and fellow employees. Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing required. BSN in Nursing preferred. 2 years of RN experience in the Emergency Department required. Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems (Medium proficiency). Effective English communication skills, both written and oral (Medium proficiency). OHS Fit Test required. Registered Nurse New York State license and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an RN upon hire required. OHS Annual Assessment required. Certification in specialty preferred upon hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) training required upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training required upon hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training required upon hire. Infection Control & Barrier Precaution Training required upon hire. Pay and Benefits Hourly Rate: $60.30.
