Diesel Mechanic - 1pm-11:30pm Shift

As a Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will work on trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers across the USA. Your day-to-day work includes inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems, estimating repair costs, and ensuring all work is completed within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). You will also respond to emergency breakdowns, perform safety checks, complete required paperwork, assist senior mechanics, review driver vehicle inspection reports, and maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area. Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts. Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns. Conduct safety checks to protect employees and the broader community. Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times. Assist senior mechanics in project work completion. Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and established safety procedures. Qualifications 2 years of relevant work experience. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Over 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Successfully complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination.
