Cardiopulmonary Technician II Part Time

Job Summary:The Cardiopulmonary Technician I supports the organization by performing various basic cardiovascular and pulmonary tests ordered by the patients provider.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:1. Performs ECGs on patients during scheduled appointments as requested by provider2. Provide patient education and hook up of short and long-term holter monitors3. Performs exercise oximetry tests4. Monitors cardiac status during stress echocardiograms (treadmill and chemical)5. Performs basic pulmonary Function Testing6. Prepares testing rooms for patient tests, keeping the rooms neat and clean7. Demonstrates appropriate and accurate documentation of patient test resultsAdditional Responsibilities:1. Inventory and order medical and office supplies or equipment2. Assists in billing, data entry, and lab equipment care/maintenance3. Other duties as assignedQualificationsExperience One year work experience as a Medical Assistant or closely related positionEducation High School Education or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in RT/PFT lab preferredCurrent BLS certification or completion within 6 months of employment is requiredWork Environment Possible exposure to communicable diseasesPhysical RequirementsOccasionally lifts and/or carries items weighing up to 25 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet.Requires full range of body motionRequires standing and walking for extensive periods of timeVision and hearing within normal range with or without corrective lenses/ devices.Other Skills Ability to deal with the public efficiently, courteously, politely, and effectively requiredBasic computer skills which enable the entry and retrieval of data including the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook required.
