Mainframe Developer

: Infosys is seeking Lead Mainframe developer who has worked on Mainframe, Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2 (Stored procedures, Native SP, SQL). This position will primarily be responsible to interface with key stakeholders; applying technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design; play an important role in creating high-level design artifacts; to deliver high-quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty; part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued. This position is based out of Omaha, NE. Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Omaha, NE or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations. • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of experience in Information Technology.
• Experience working in Mainframe, Cobol, DB2, JCL, VSAM
• Experience working in SQL.
• Experience in IT development/maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 6 years of experience in Mainframe Technologies.
• Experience in Mainframe Assembler.
• At least 6 years of experience in COBOL, CICS and SQL Programming
• At least 5 years of experience in VSAM.
• At least 2 years of experience in version controlling tools endeavor/changeman.
• At least 2 years of work experience in Job scheduling (CA-7 preferred)
• At least 4 years of experience in software development life cycle
• Strong Analytical & design skills.
• Ability to lead the activities related to requirements elicitation, creation and review of design, provide pseudo code to the team, assign and review tasks, mentor individuals.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
