Assistant/Associate Professor of Dental Medicine

Assistant/Associate Professor of Dental Medicine Full‑time faculty position at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine. The role combines teaching, patient care, scholarly activity and service, and includes an administrative appointment. Primary Purpose: Conduct teaching, patient care activities, scholarly and service activities in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the College and University. Key Responsibilities Promote an atmosphere of respect and humanistic values throughout the university. Contribute to development, implementation, and evaluation of courses and academic programs. Teach courses and/or conduct clinical instruction, including lecture, seminar, laboratory, problem‑based learning, case‑based learning, and/or online modules. Assess students through quizzes, exams, projects, oral exams, clinical evaluations, and prepare syllabi with learning objectives and assessment methods. Provide academic advising, mentoring and consultation to students. Engage in scholarly activity and meet promotion and tenure requirements. Participate in faculty meetings, committee service and professional societies. Provide patient care in line with educational needs and the community service mission. Perform additional duties as assigned and support the clinical and educational mission. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Recognized knowledge and experience in area of expertise. Completion of a specialty program accredited by the ADA Commission. Active California dental license or eligibility to obtain one. Preferred Qualifications Experience in clinical practice, academia, and/or clinical research. Specialty Board Certification or eligibility. Compensation Minimum $180,000.00 annually. Maximum $195,000.00 annually. Work Schedule Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Physical Demands May require the use of hands, reaching, stooping, sitting, walking, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds with assistance. Work Environment Office, laboratory or clinic setting; moderate ambient noise.
