Plant Maintenance Technician

We’re hiring a Plant Maintenance Technician to join County Materials in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Job Summary The Plant Maintenance Technician supports safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations in a fast‑paced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime, minimal downtime, and optimal equipment performance. The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding systems, and works effectively under pressure. This position partners closely with production, engineering, safety, and maintenance teams to meet production, quality, and workplace safety goals. Job Duties & Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing and production equipment during active operations Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems Respond quickly to emergency and unplanned equipment failures to reduce production downtime Maintain compliance with safety standards, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements Perform steel fabrication and welding for equipment repair, modification, and installation Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders Use hand tools, power tools, meters, welders, torches, and material‑handling equipment safely and effectively Weld, fabricate, and install machine components as needed Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA and company standards Source parts and supplies, obtain vendor quotes, and install replacement components Coordinate and communicate with vendors and external contractors for equipment maintenance and installation projects Core Competencies Integrity & Organizational Awareness Customer First Focus Results Driven Orientation Teamwork, Safety & Collaboration Problem Solving & Decision Making Creativity & Innovation Job-Based Competencies Equipment Maintenance Mechanical Systems Manufacturing Equipment Production Support Welding Blueprint Reading Time Management Communication Safety Mindedness Experience & Qualifications (Required or Preferred) Minimum 2+ years of experience in plant or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment Strong hands‑on experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, welding, electric motors, conveyors, steel fabrication, and overhead cranes Demonstrated ability to work as a self‑motivated, proactive, and multitasking team player Solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices and production equipment operations Electrical license preferred, but not required Work Environment Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards Work in a noisy environment Physical & Work Expectations Sitting Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds Standing / Walking / Climbing Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending Pushing / Pulling / Reaching Above Shoulder Benefits Overview Health, dental and vision insurance Paid Short‑term & Long‑term disability 401(k) match 8 Paid holidays Paid Time Off Referral rewards program Wellness program with rewards Flexible Savings Options Employee Assistance Program Paid Life Insurance $200 Boot Allowance Safety focused: GUARD for Life Voluntary critical illness & accident insurance Optional Uniform Program Military service members and veterans are encouraged to apply.
