Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Alternating Days and Nights (4x12-Hour Shifts) | 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a complex care unit serving Medicine, orthopedic overflow, and complex long-term patients with a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Perform telemetry monitoring on the unit and utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
• Manage and care for central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, feeding tubes, surgical drains, and pacemakers (temporary and permanent)
• Administer blood products and manage Heparin protocols; perform phlebotomy and IV starts
• Provide respiratory support including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, and tracheostomy management
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity and float to other units as required; maintain isolation precautions and perform wound care including wound vac management

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• EPIC charting proficiency is a hard requirement
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement patients
• Familiarity with tracheostomy management and advanced respiratory support modalities
• Comfort managing high-acuity, complex long-term care patients
