Registered Nurse (RN) - Float House Supervisor - $50-77 per hour

Job Description & Requirements Tenet Desert is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Float House Supervisor for a nursing job in Joshua Tree, California. Shift: Nights, 7:00pm to 7:30am, every other weekend required. Duration: Ongoing (36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts). Responsibilities Assist physicians, employees, patients, and visitors with issues that require assistance at the supervisory level. Provide relief coverage for rest and meal breaks, aiding in patient care. Coordinate staffing for nursing in acute patient care areas and assign nursing and ancillary staff according to patient needs and staff competency. Communicate with nursing and hospital administration matters requiring immediate action; ensure communication is timely and appropriate. Ensure contract staff has appropriate credentials, orientation, and evaluation dates completed, audit registry invoices, and approve for payment. Promote professionalism and foster teamwork across all units. Round on all acute inpatient units within the hospital at least three times per shift or more if necessary. Maintain current nursing practice through attendance at education programs, seminars, or continuing education. Ensure nursing license is current, in good standing with the state board, and with no lapse in documentation. Demonstrate competence in caring for patients across infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, treating patients/families with compassion, dignity, and respect. Accountable for the safety of staff, patients, and visitors and follow the service‑excellence standards set by the hospital. Ensure departments operate within or above guidelines established by regulatory and review agencies, demonstrating clear understanding and compliance with Title XXII, The Joint Commission, and other applicable requirements. Manage nursing staff of the acute patient care hospital and infusion clinic, providing clear decisions and communication that support the organizational strategic plan and consistent with sound management practices. Act as a pharmacy liaison after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays when a pharmacist is not on campus. Complete death packets for expired patients and make timely notifications to the donor alliance and the coroner’s office. Assume the role of incident commander after hours, weekends, and holidays, making initial notifications to administration during a mass casualty or emergency until the assigned individual arrives. Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred). Five years’ experience as an RN in an acute care setting. Previous nursing supervisory experience preferred. Current California Registered Nursing license. Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification. #J-18808-Ljbffr Tenet Desert
