Hours are 8:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma – experience preferred
• Computer skills
• Ability to work with students and meet their specific needs: emotional – social – academic – physical
• Ability to work with teachers and staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to supervise students using good judgment and school guidelines
• Ability to observe, assess, and problem solve
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work as a team member
• Maintain a pleasant, positive child/client-centered attitude
• Maintain a secure environment
• Ability to deal with interruptions
• Ability to multi-task – flexibility
• Effective communication skills: written – oral – telephone – interpersonal
• Operate and use office equipment related to job function

Essential Job Functions

• Assist students with assignments and research
• Supervise and assist students
• Inter-library loans
• Catalog – process materials
• Work with volunteers
• Gather materials for librarian/teachers (research projects)
• Recess/cafeteria/class coverages
• Library circulation desk functions
• Clerical support – material preparation

Clearances required for employment:

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
• Pennsylvania State Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
• Federal Criminal History Record Check (Act 114)
