Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician

Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
Maintain cleanliness and order in the sterile processing area
Inspect and package surgical instruments for sterilization
Monitor sterilization equipment and processes
Adhere to safety and infection control protocols

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician

Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician
Experience in a sterile processing environment
Knowledge of sterilization methods and infection control practices
