You'll find a collaborative team of coworkers and providers, as well as consistent hours.This role offers:A great work/life balanceNo weekends or evenings – Monday thru FridayPaid holidays and paid time offRapidly growing team with opportunities for advancementCompetitive compensationBenefits packageDuties you will be responsible for:Work with providers to room office visit pts, which consists of greeting pts, taking vitals, entering history in the EMR and updating medication lists.Keeping exam room clean and stocked with medical supplies.Assisting providers with rectal exams and hemorrhoid banding procedures.Performing testing such as Fibroscans, bone density and breath tests.Prior authorizations for medication and infusion drugs.Maintaining logs for expiring infusion medication drugs with each patient's insurance and renewing when needed.Scheduling testing and procedures for patients after their office visits and from incoming PCP requests.Spanish and Portuguese speaking is a plus, but not required.Greet and room patients, ensuring appropriate patient flowUpdate patient's medical chart with accurate and timely documentationManage phone triage and take appropriate action under the direction of the providerDemonstrate ability and appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and procedures in accordance with physician's ordersProvide patient education as well as personal patient care to provide comfort and well-being to acknowledge physiological and psychological needsUnder direction from providers, process refills for prescriptions following clinic protocolDemonstrates positive interpersonal relationships in dealing with fellow clinic employees, managers and providersTake direction and initiate actions that will allow cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient careFollow safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and state health department guidelinesOther administrative tasks as needed.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant (AAMA certification preferred)Medical terminology knowledge requiredeClinicalWorks (eCW): 1 year (Preferred)We offer a comprehensive benefits package to our eligible employees:MedicalDentalVisionSpending AccountsLife / AD&DDisabilityAccidentCritical IllnessHospital IndemnityLegalIdentity TheftPet401(k) retirement plan with Non-Elective Safe Harbor employer contribution for eligible employeesDiscretionary profit-sharing with employer contributions of 0% - 4% for eligible employeesAdditionally, Gastro Health participates in a program called Tickets at Work that provides discounts on concerts, travel, movies, and more.Gastro Health is the one of the largest gastroenterology multi-specialty groups in the United States, with over 130+ locations throughout the country.
