Unit Salary Schedule - Step 1) Responsible to: Kitchen Manager Job Summary: Under the direction of the Kitchen Manager, the Food Service Worker fulfills various tasks essential to the daily functioning of the Food Service program. Responsibilities Collaborate as a team member by actively participating in food preparation and daily production of breakfast, lunch, snacks, encompassing tasks such as prepping, cooking, serving, cleaning, and more. Prepare food according to the planned menu and standardized guidelines. Serve accurate portions of each product in adherence to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Nutrition standards. Understand and comply with the requirements of a reimbursable program. Assist in the daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, including washing and sanitizing serving, prepping, and storage. Keep accurate records as instructed, including but not limited to Adults and Students without accounts in Point of Sale, Production Records, Temperature Logs, and Cash. Assist in cleaning kitchen and storage areas at intervals during the year as directed by the Kitchen Manager. Work efficiently and precisely under restaurant and food safety standards. Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation, food handling, and safety. Check email at least once daily. Maintain positive working relations with colleagues, demonstrating consideration, patience, respect, and self-control. Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director. Report to the assigned school to substitute as needed or directed by the Food Service Director. Physical Demands Must be able to lift cases up to 40 pounds and carry to/from storage areas. Prolonged standing and reaching. Tolerance for variations in temperature, including working in cold or hot environments. Qualifications Serve Safe Certification is required, obtainable within one year. Allergen Training is required, certification obtainable after one year. CPR certification is required, obtainable after one year.
