Youth Advocate Programs

Job Overview This is an hourly, part‑time position providing mentorship and advocacy for youth and families throughout Presque Isle. The ideal candidate will be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings. The primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families. All service plans will be based on a strength‑based approach using the wraparound model. This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage ($0.56/mile), and activity reimbursement. Hourly Rate: $21 per hour. Responsibilities Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and families. Serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings. Use a strength‑based approach and wraparound model to develop service plans. Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in community work and knowledge of community resources. Experience working with at‑risk youth. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using an electronic health record (EHR) is a plus. CPR/First Aid Certification a plus. Bi‑Lingual/Spanish speaking a plus. Reliable transportation with current auto coverage and valid driver’s license is required. Able to start right away.
