Physician Assistant - Heart Failure/Transplant The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work on our Heart Failure/Transplant team. The ideal candidate is someone who has been practicing as a Physician Assistant for at least one year and who has experience with cardiac patients. Responsibilities Assess the physical condition of a group of patients by performing physical examinations and obtaining medical histories. Formulate the medical plan and prognosis based on patient's condition. Consult with physician(s) regarding patient health and care plans and treatment. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Perform selected invasive procedures for therapeutic and/or diagnostic reasons within scope of validated competence. Initiate and/or recommend medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatment and procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policy. Comply with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiate and maintain required records and legal documents. Participate in quality improvement activities. Counsel patients, families and significant others about health and illness, and promote health maintenance. Evaluate, plan, implement, and re‑evaluate the care of individuals requiring emergency measures. Minimum Qualifications Required: Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah. Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Preferred: Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria. This position is patient‑sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. No call (outside of regular working hours). The exact schedule is TBD (anticipated to be 8‑10 hour shifts, including weekends and some holidays).
