Summer Camp Registrar - Temporary Part-Time 

Organization: Guided Discoveries-AstroCamp/Catalina Sea Camp 
Location: San Clemente, CA - In-office position 
Employment type: Temporary, hourly, part-time 
Anticipated start: January 2027 
Expected duration: Approximately three months, with the possibility of extension through summer 
Schedule: Three in-office days per week, (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday/8:30am-4:00pm)  
Pay range: $20–$23 per hour 

About the position 

Guided Discoveries is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and service-minded Summer Camp Registrar to provide temporary coverage during a staff leave of absence. This role supports the smooth operation of summer camp registration and helps ensure families receive timely, helpful communication throughout the enrollment process. 

The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable managing administrative details, and able to handle confidential information and payment-related records accurately. 

Key responsibilities 

• Process camper registrations and enrollment information accurately and in a timely manner. 
• Communicate professionally with parents and guardians by email and phone, answering questions and providing registration updates. 
• Maintain organized camper records, forms, and registration documentation. 
• Track missing forms, outstanding information, and registration deadlines. 
• Assist with payment processing, billing inquiries, and payment record reconciliation in accordance with organizational procedures. 
• Protect confidential family and financial information. 
• Learn and use the organization's registration systems, spreadsheets, and administrative tools. 
• Coordinate with camp staff and other team members to resolve registration issues and support program readiness. 
• Document procedures and maintain clear records to support continuity of operations. 

Qualifications 

Required or essential qualifications 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Professional written and verbal communication. 
• Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and data entry. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow established procedures. 
• Commitment to confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping. 
• Availability to work the stated in-office schedule for the expected temporary assignment. 

Preferred qualifications 

• Experience in office administration, registration, enrollment, customer service, or program support. 
• Experience handling payments, billing records, or financial transactions. 
• Experience working with schools, camps, youth programs, or nonprofit organizations. 
• Ability to learn new software and communicate effectively with families from varied backgrounds. 

Equivalent transferable experience will be considered. 

Position details 

This is a temporary hourly position expected to last approximately three months. An extension through the summer may be available based on organizational needs and mutual agreement; continued employment is not guaranteed. 

The selected candidate will receive training and will be expected to follow established procedures for registration, recordkeeping, payment handling, and privacy.
