Position Overview Under the direction of the Sleep Manager, Supervisor, or designated physician, the incumbent will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This includes conducting overnight and daytime polysomnographic studies, delivering diagnostic and therapeutic services, and supporting patient care and education. Key Responsibilities Calibrating medical equipment, applying EEG electrodes, and setting up respiratory monitoring devices. Administering unattended Home Sleep Tests (HST) and educating patients on procedures and expectations. Analyzing and scoring polysomnographic recordings, documenting sleep stages, arousals, and respiratory events according to established protocols. Programming, downloading, and troubleshooting HST devices, and assisting with PAP troubleshooting and mask fittings. Supporting operational needs of the sleep lab, including equipment maintenance, supply management, and onboarding new staff. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state‑licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility. Medical Board of California licensure for Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Care Practitioner. Certification as RPSGT, RST, or RRTSDS. BART or BLS at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date. At least one (1) year of experience working in a sleep or pulmonary clinic. Demonstrated experience performing various polysomnographic procedures. Ability to score polysomnographic results independently. Experience preparing and calibrating medical equipment required for pulmonary testing to determine proper functioning and making adjustments as needed. Experience documenting routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. Experience implementing appropriate interventions, such as continuous and bi‑level positive airway pressure and oxygen administration, for patient safety and therapeutic purposes. Preferred Qualifications Four (4) years of experience working in a sleep lab. Experience working in a pulmonary, sleep center, or clinic setting. Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $80,973 - $100,662 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $38.78 - $48.21 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for this role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
