The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brigham's unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion.

The Kaplan Joint Center at Newton Wellesley Hospital provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with joint pain. Our expert orthopedic surgeons specialize in joint reconstruction and replacement, helping patients achieve improved mobility, reduced pain, and an improved quality of life.

The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

Essential functions include assisting junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities, explaining treatment procedures to patients, performing general office duties, collecting blood or tissue specimens, maintaining inventory of immunizations, providing immunizations, and improving departmental quality initiatives.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.

Experience: 12 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or related medical field experience required.

Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) National Certification preferred.

We are currently hiring a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to work on site Monday-Friday between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility! Our Medical Assistants play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our Joint Center patients!
