Quick Facts Location: Spokane, WA — 800 West 5th Avenue Start Date: 09/10/2026 End Date/Duration: Multiple shifts from 01/11/2027 through 06/30/2027 (as per schedule) Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, plus call coverage (evenings, weekends, emergency) Hours/Week: 40+ hours/week Employment Type: Contract (W-2) License/Certs: Physician Assistant License, BLS Experience: Prior experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00/hr (note: this is placeholder info; pay package to be discussed upon application) Competitive weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Robust referral bonus program and dedicated support team What You’ll Do Conduct morning rounds, monitor patient progress, and update daily notes Assist in all cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including robotic lobectomy, CABG, valve surgeries, and more Manage postoperative care, chest tubes, and patient discharges Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during rounds and procedures Support in ICU and OR settings; no clinic responsibilities involved Respond to emergency calls and provide on-call coverage on a rotational basis Assist with endoscopic vein and radial harvesting, conduit preparation, and postoperative care What You Need Current Physician Assistant licensure in Washington BLS certification required Minimum 2+ years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related field Strong knowledge of cardiothoracic procedures, ICU protocols, and patient management Ability to work flexible hours and respond effectively to emergent situations About the Assignment This assignment involves working in a comprehensive cardiothoracic surgery practice with a dedicated team of surgeons and PAs. Responsibilities include rounding, assisting with surgeries, postoperative patient management, and emergency coverage.
