Staff Engineer

Kent Conservation District is a governmental sub-division of the State of Delaware authorized by state legislation in Title 7 of the Delaware Code, Chapter 39. The district is responsible for conservation work within Kent County. They focus on soil, water, and related resource problems and develop programs to solve them. The district enlists and coordinates help from public and private sources to accomplish their goals and increase awareness of the inter-relationship between human activities and the natural environment. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as a Staff Engineer at Kent Conservation District in Dover, DE. Primary responsibility will be to perform regulatory review and approval of Sediment & Stormwater plans. Duties will also include planning, management and inspection of drainage improvement projects and assisting in various capacities to support the Stormwater Program. The Staff Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects related to soil and water conservation in Kent County, Delaware. They will also develop and implement solutions to environmental challenges, conduct assessments and evaluations, and collaborate with public and private stakeholders. The Staff Engineer will be involved in planning, design, and implementation of conservation projects. Qualifications Strong background in civil or environmental engineering Experience in managing engineering projects Knowledge of land and water conservation principles Ability to conduct assessments and evaluations Excellent communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of relevant software and tools Experience working with public and private stakeholders Ability to work independently and in a team Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes #J-18808-Ljbffr
