Responsibilities Preventative Maintenance of commercial plumbing equipment Troubleshooting and repair of commercial plumbing equipment Testing and inspection of backflow preventers and fire hydrants Create and manage testing and inspection schedule to ensure compliance with all requirements Maintain adequate inventory of parts, equipment, and material Respond to emergencies in accordance with the PWS Act as the SME for infrastructure improvements involving plumbing upgrades and projects Troubleshoot and repair sewage ejector equipment Act as the SME for all building water outages Troubleshoot and repair backflow preventers Read blueprints and schematics Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED Active Journeyman or higher plumber license in any state Active backflow preventer certification Active TS/SCI clearance 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing 2 years of experience in inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing backflow preventers Extensive knowledge of Plumbing Codes and Regulations Excellent customer service and communication skills Experience working on specialized plumbing equipment such as sewage ejector pits, commercial water heaters, fire hydrants, commercial kitchen drains, and solar‑powered plumbing equipment Experience in testing and inspection reports to ensure accuracy Experience utilizing various tools and testing equipment Excellent knowledge of reading blueprints and schematics Ability to work flexible hours and overtime Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Knowledge of organizational procedures and workflows – understanding how work moves through a company Basic knowledge of relevant technologies or tools – e.g., Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry‑standard software Knowledge of customer service practices – principles of providing quality service and managing inquiries professionally Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality principles – awareness of proper handling of sensitive information Communication skills (written and verbal) – ability to convey information clearly and professionally Time management and prioritization – balancing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines Problem‑solving and critical thinking – analyzing issues and selecting appropriate solutions Interpersonal and teamwork skills – building rapport and collaborating effectively with others Attention to detail – producing accurate, error‑free work Preferred — (No preferred items listed) Physical Requirements Move throughout the property, including accessing multiple floors, stairways, and mechanical spaces Remain in a stationary position and/or move about the property for extended periods during inspections or issue resolution Operate standard maintenance tools and office equipment Position self (e.g., bend, stoop, kneel, reach) to inspect or access equipment and areas requiring maintenance Move items of moderate weight (up to 25–50 lbs) or coordinate assistance when needed Communicate effectively with tenants, staff, and vendors Work Environment Work is performed in a combination of office, residential/commercial, indoor, and outdoor environments Regular movement throughout the property is required, including common areas, mechanical rooms, and exterior spaces May encounter variable environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow, noise, dust, odors, cleaning agents, and building materials Interaction with tenants, employees, vendors, and contractors in both routine and time‑sensitive situations Respond to urgent or emergency situations outside standard business hours Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones) and occasional maintenance tools or equipment Supervisory Responsibilities Not supervisory.
