Occupational Therapist

NEUROWORX is a community-based, nonprofit outpatient clinic specializing in neurological rehabilitation for adults and children affected by paralysis and other functional limitations related to spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, and similar neurological conditions. Our licensed physical, occupational, and mental-health therapists work collaboratively in a specialized rehabilitation environment designed to help patients pursue greater independence, safety, participation, and quality of life. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, NEUROWORX works to reduce financial barriers to care. Our treatment philosophy emphasizes individualized, activity-based rehabilitation grounded in neuroplastic principles and a time-liberal approach to therapy. The Role The Occupational Therapist (FT) will evaluate and treat patients with neurological conditions, with the large majority of the caseload consisting of adults. This role is best suited for a clinician who values complex problem-solving, meaningful patient relationships, interdisciplinary teamwork, and continued professional growth. Direct patient care is performed onsite. Some documentation, program development, research, or other approved non-clinical responsibilities may be completed remotely when appropriate for the clinical schedule and coordinated with the supervisor. Schedule and Compensation The full-time schedule is generally 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with patient appointments beginning at 10:00 a.m. and one free hour provided for lunch. Productivity expectations are five patients per day. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. What You Will Do Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations addressing occupational performance, functional independence, safety, participation, and quality of life. Develop individualized, measurable plans of care and provide evidence-based, hands-on intervention for patients with complex neurological needs. Use clinical reasoning and outcome data to adjust interventions, document progress, and support medical necessity. Train patients and caregivers in home programs, adaptive strategies, equipment use, and techniques that promote safe participation across home and community environments. Collaborate closely with physical therapists, mental health providers, physicians, caregivers, and other team members to coordinate patient-centered care. Complete timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with professional, payer, and regulatory standards. Contribute to an inclusive clinical environment that respects each patient's goals, background, identity, and lived experience. Participate in program development, outcomes initiatives, research, and professional presentations as interests and organizational opportunities align. Qualifications Required Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Current Utah Occupational Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain licensure before the start date. Strong clinical reasoning, communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues across disciplines and backgrounds. Ability to perform the essential functions of direct patient care, including safely assisting with transfers and therapeutic equipment. Commitment to ethical practice, continued learning, and NEUROWORX's nonprofit mission. Preferred Clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation, or a clear commitment to developing expertise in this specialty. Experience or interest in family-centered care.
