Job OpportunityWe are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, working a 3x12 hour schedule with a commitment to holiday bundles. Candidates must be available to work two of the three designated holiday periods: Thanksgiving and the following day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide patient care in a Pediatric Emergency Department environment.Work in a 1:4 patient ratio, with potential increases during high census periods.Float to pediatric admission floors as needed based on staffing requirements.Participate in triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, and starting IVs.Interpret 12-lead EKGs and cardiac dysrhythmias.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and social services.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience within an Adult/Pedi combined ED or a Pediatric ED.Valid and current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, and ENPC (TNCC is not acceptable as an alternative).COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions accepted with completion of necessary documentation.Strong emergency nursing skills and trauma/resuscitation experience preferred.Experience with Cerner charting system is highly desirable.Work EnvironmentThis position is located in a Level I Trauma, Teaching Children's Hospital with a total of 554 staffed beds. The Pediatric ER unit frequently experiences high volumes and may board admissions for extended periods during peak times.Additional InformationNo local candidates will be accepted within a 100-mile radius.Guaranteed hours are 36 hours per week, with the facility reserving the right to call off shifts up to three times within a 13-week assignment.Weekend shifts will be scheduled as needed, including Friday through Sunday nights.A break of six months is required after four consecutive assignments or when reaching the one-year mark, whichever comes first.LocationCity: [City Name], State: [State Name]
