Senior Staff Accountant

Senior Staff Accountant - Great opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys complex reconciliations, problem-solving, and digging into the details when something doesn’t tie out.
Location: Greenwood Village, CO
Hybrid: Up to 2/3 days a week in office
Duration: 6-month contract
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform high-volume and complex account reconciliations
- Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Support month-end close
- Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances
- Manipulate and analyze large data sets
- Work extensively in Excel and accounting systems
- Identify issues and take ownership of resolving them
- Leverage AI, automation, and modern technology to improve efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
- Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end experience
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and large data sets
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable learning new systems and technology
- Self-directed, proactive, and able to hit the ground running
- Backgrounds in Oil & Gas, Construction, Aviation, or other complex accounting environments could translate well

This is not an entry-level Staff Accountant position . The team is looking for someone who can step in quickly, work independently, and proactively take work off the manager’s plate.
