CNC Machinist — 3rd Shift: Precision Setup & Maintenance

Job Title CNC Machinist – 3rd Shift (Production & Maintenance) Shift Schedule Sunday through Thursday 11:00 pm – 7:00 am. Must be able to train on 1st shift Monday‑Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Job Description Chromalloy is seeking qualified candidates to join the Production & Maintenance organization. The role involves operating and setting up standard manual machine tools as well as CNC metal‑working machines. Minimum Requirements Must be able to read, write and work with Work Instructions. Must be able to set up and operate standard manual machine tools such as milling machines (vertical and horizontal), engine lathes, surface grinders. Experience with internal and external grinders, VTL or other metal‑working machines desired. Must be able to operate and set up one or more of the following: CNC grinders, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe or any other CNC metal‑working machine where CNC control knowledge may be directly applied to CNC machine tools operation. Must be able to apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout machining procedures. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, sketches and descriptions of parts to be worked on or replaced. Must be able to measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining. Must be able to verify dimensions and alignment with measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks. Must have five years machine shop experience. Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required. Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing). Mechanical background preferred. Ability to use hand tools and gauges (previous experience preferred). Physical Demands Regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Work Environment The position is performed in a typical manufacturing environment that may include moderate cold and heat, loud noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
