Windows Systems Engineer SME

Overview The Windows System Engineer SME provides support and administration of the CAA and Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) in a Windows Server distributed environment. Responsibilities Perform Operating System (OS) tasks such as OS installation, upgrades, patches, fixes, testing, and troubleshooting Provide automation, continuous improvement recommendations, and implementation for all patching services Perform production control activities such as the support of cyclical changes to operational workloads, data administration, data compression, data restores, reorganization of files, recovery of systems, production of reports, download/upload of information, setup and verification of files and programs Create and manage a routine Maintenance Window schedule that adheres to the USCIS Configuration Change and Release Management (CCRM) process Perform log reviews and server configuration changes Coordinate OS upgrades, patches, fixes, and testing with stakeholders Analyze data and provide recommendations to address application high availability issues and requirements. Qualifications Required: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Windows engineering, specifically including: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a similar Information Technology Field. Analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware and software to support large-scale Windows environments with virtualization. 10 years’ experience testing large-scale Windows environments. Experience performing a variety of engineering and operational-related assignments associated with Storage operations, backup operations, and virtualization software (VMware’s vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‑V on a set of enterprise‑level IT systems). 10 years’ experience writing scripts with a scripting language, with knowledge of ANSIBLE. Familiarity with DevOps and ITIL processes. Experienced in AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud Services, and other Cloud environments. Secret Clearance.
