Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and CT or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) in a high-acuity Cardiovascular ICU
• Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital setting
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 for both day and night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Will float to other Heart and Vascular Center ICUs within scope
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
• Proficiency with Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring required
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiovascular procedures including CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and post cardiac surgery care
• Experience managing ventilated patients, arterial lines, central lines, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to complex cardiovascular ICU patients, including pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention patients
• Work within a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center environment
• First-time travelers accepted with cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require facility approval
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the hospital
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
