Python & SQL Developer

Location: Newark, NJ or Tampa, FL (No Remote - 3 days in office)

Duration: 6 months

Act as a senior backend developer specializing in Python and SQL

Design scalable and high-performance data-driven applications

Collaborate with business and technical teams to define solutions

Contribute to architecture and database design decisions

Ensure data availability and integrity across systems

Support analytics and reporting data needs

Promote best practices in coding and database development

Provide technical leadership in data processing and automation

Participate in technical discussions and solution reviews

Ensure alignment with business and technical requirements

Drive improvements in development processes and standards

Mentor junior team members and support team growth

Develop and maintain Python-based backend applications and scripts

Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures

Design and implement efficient data access layers

Create and manage relational database schemas

Perform query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis

Monitor and troubleshoot application and database performance issues

Build automation workflows for batch and scheduled processing

Support ETL and data ingestion processes

Perform data validation and reconciliation

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements

Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices

Maintain technical documentation for applications and workflows

Strong proficiency in Python programming

Strong SQL expertise including joins, subqueries, and window functions

Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)

Knowledge of database design and normalization

Experience in performance tuning and query optimization

Understanding of ETL concepts and data pipelines

Experience with Git version control

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work with large and complex datasets

Backend application development expertise

Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Strong communication and collaboration skills
