Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night and Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Compact license must be in hand at submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Patient ratio experience required Charting system experience required Description: This position will float between units. Weekends are required, at least every other. Expected patient ratios are 1:4. Special requirements include ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. The facility sees a diverse patient population in a metropolitan area. It is not designated as a trauma center but receives walk-in trauma patients. The facility is both stroke and STEMI certified. Inpatient behavioral health care leads to boarding patients in the emergency department. Flexibility in patient assignments is expected based on workload intensity. Experience in the care of medical boarders is beneficial. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Applicants should have references covering one year within the last three years. The position requires commitment to work three of the five holidays. Specific scheduling requests must be made during submission. Inflexibility beyond the contracted schedule may lead to termination of contract.
