If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, collaborating with talented teams, and seeing your ideas come to life in a highly regulated, high-impact environment, we'd love to meet you.What You Will Do:As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you'll develop and support electrical power distribution systems, instrumentation, controls, and facility infrastructure that enable safe and reliable plant operations. You'll partner with operations, maintenance, project teams, and other engineering disciplines to troubleshoot equipment, lead design improvements, prepare engineering calculations and specifications, support capital projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across one of the nation's most advanced nuclear technology facilities. We'd Love to Hear from People With:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering within an industrial, manufacturing, utility, energy, chemical, or similar environmentExperience designing, analyzing, or supporting industrial electrical power systemsExperience using ETAP software to perform system wide arc-flash, protection coordination and fault analysis studies.Experience with developing electrical equipment preventative maintenance requirements and the ability to analyze maintenance results to develop corrective measures.Knowledge of electrical power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, transformers, protective relaying, and electrical equipmentFamiliarity with applicable engineering codes and standards including NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and ANSIExperience preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and design documentationAbility to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering, maintenance, and operations teamsProficiency with Microsoft Office and various engineering software including ETAP.Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" level security clearance.A Successful Candidate Brings:5+ years of experience supporting complex industrial electrical systemsExperience in the nuclear, chemical processing, manufacturing, utility, or other highly regulated industriesExperience performing power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysesFamiliarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), instrumentation, and industrial control systemsExperience leading capital improvement projects from design through commissioning by developing startup and commissioning plansKnowledge of DOE, NRC, or other highly regulated operating environmentsExperience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six SigmaActive "Q" or Top Secret ClearancePay:Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $65,555 - $109,259. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.Centrus Energy and all subsidiaries shall abide by the applicable legal requirements.
