Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Job Summary Children’s is one of the nation’s leading children’s hospitals. The role supports the organization in evaluating and supporting system strategies for product and service acquisition and assists in implementing these strategies. Schedule & Location Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Regular workday). Location: 1575 Northeast Expy NE, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Responsibilities Contracting: Drive contract compliance and product standards for consumable contracts (both GPO and local). Negotiate improved pricing and other business deal aspects. Review monthly reports to identify opportunities to add items to contracts or add new vendors. Contracting for non‑IT capital, purchased services, professional services, and service/maintenance contracts valued $1M-$2M. Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, end‑user licensing agreements, statements of work, placement agreements, and other IT related agreements. Strategy Development ($500K‑$1M projects): Provide oversight of the Sourcing Analyst. For $1M‑$2M projects, lead the formal RFX process, provide market intelligence, vendor financial and performance research, create RFX documents, facilitate specification development, analyze responses, compile data, and present recommendations. Proactive execution of sourcing strategies and serve as an expert in the strategic sourcing process across assigned spend categories, leading contract negotiations and driving priorities and performance goals. Lead system‑wide cost savings initiatives and non‑clinical products & purchased services initiatives with Supply Chain leadership. Lead organization in opening new facilities and renovating current facilities—project‑manage the strategic contracting and sourcing function, coordinate product and equipment needs with the equipment planner. Value Analysis: Research spend patterns, identify savings opportunities, support the value‑analysis team in product standardization, conduct capital evaluations, negotiate evaluation agreements, determine price impact, and work with stakeholders on new product requests. Required Experience 7-10 years of experience in supply‑chain/materials management, including competitive procurement practices, contract analysis, and negotiation of goods and services. 5 years of experience in contract negotiations or project management. Proficient in enterprise resource planning systems (e.g., Lawson, PeopleSoft). Preferred Qualifications 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting. Experience with a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). Master’s degree or industry professional certification (e.g., CPM, CSCP, CMRP, CCCM). Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain. Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing and contracting processes. Proficient technical and analytical skills. System‑wide contract administration and maintenance knowledge. Ability to review, summarize and negotiate system‑wide contractual agreements. Proven leadership, project planning, management and tracking skills. Excellent communication skills in written, oral and presentation formats across organizational levels. Strong organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
