Locums - Maryville, Illinois Interventional Cardiology Opportunity (IMLC Welcome)

Clinical Role

Join an established hospital-based cardiology program in Maryville, Illinois, providing a combination of inpatient rounding, general cardiology, interventional cardiology procedures, and STEMI call coverage. This ongoing locums opportunity offers a weekday schedule with shared call responsibilities while working within a collaborative cardiovascular team. Providers with active Illinois and Missouri licenses or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) are encouraged to apply.

Assignment Details

Start Date:

As soon as credentialed

Contract Length:

3 months with ongoing extension opportunities

Coverage anticipated through the end of 2026

Coverage Requirements:

Preferred:

• Full-time
• 40 hours per week

Will also consider:

• PRN providers
• Call-only providers

Please note: Providers cannot be hired exclusively for call-only coverage. Call responsibilities must accompany scheduled clinical coverage.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Call Schedule:

• One night of call per week
• One weekend of call per month
• Call schedule is negotiable

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Hospital

Patient Population:

Patients of all ages may be seen

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 15 patients per weekday
• Up to 25 patients on weekends while on call

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Hospital rounding
• General cardiology management
• STEMI call coverage
• Temporary pacemaker placement
• Cardiac catheterizations
• Coronary interventions
• Electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation
• Echocardiogram interpretation
• Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
• Documentation using Epic EMR

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology (Interventional Cardiology experience required) - Required
• Nuclear Cardiology certification acceptable as listed by the facility - Required
• Active Illinois Medical License - Required
• Active Missouri Medical License - Required
• Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) candidates will be considered
• DEA Registration - Required
• BLS Certification - Required
• ACLS Certification - Required
• Minimum one year of post-training experience - Required
• New graduates will not be considered
