Join Our Dynamic Ultrasound Team!

Job Description:


- Position: Travel Ultrasound Tech
- Shift: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Duration: 8 Weeks
- Location: Manchester, NH

Unit Information:
- Ultrasound Department
- Number of Beds: 4 ultrasound rooms
- Staffing: 14 dedicated professionals including:
- Day Shift: 4 sonographers + supervisor
- Second Shift: 1 sonographer after 7:30 PM
- Night Shift: 1 sonographer

Patient Care:
- Patient Ratios: 8-10 patients in an 8-hour shift
- Patient Population: Diverse range from pediatrics to geriatrics

Equipment and Technology:
- Ultrasound Machines: Siemens Acuson S200 & GE Logiq E10
- EMR System: Allscripts
- PACS: InteleRad

Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital or acute care settings
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology
- Basic scanning skills and understanding of sonographic physics
- Exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography

Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications: RVT, OB-GYN, AB
- Experience in the OR and with ultrasound procedures
- 1 year experience beyond education

Typical Procedures:
- Thoracentesis & Paracentesis
- Fine Needle Aspirations (FNAs) for thyroids, parotids, lymph nodes
- Soft tissue masses and lymph node biopsies
- Liver & renal biopsies, drainages for abscesses, cysts, and hematomas
- Thrombin injections
- OR procedures including breast needle placements, carotid studies, D&Cs, and prostate biopsies

Required Certifications:
- BLS, RDMS, NH MIRT Licensure

Floating Opportunities:
- Extra shifts within the department
- Potential for Breast Ultrasound opportunities

Dress Code:
- Professional and clean scrubs or radiology-themed t-shirts

Policies:
- Attendance and PTO requests must be adhered to
- Compliance with all exam protocols is required

Weekends and On-call:
- Weekends are covered by weekend position staff
- No call required; a call tree is implemented for critical staffing needs
