About the Role

We're hiring Hospitalist physicians to provide nonpersonal inpatient medical coverage at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, a federal health facility serving American Indian and Alaska Native patients in the Phoenix area. Both day and night shifts are available tell us your availability and preference.

Schedule Options

• Day Shift: 8 11 hour shifts (7:00 AM 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM 6:00 PM), 7 days/week including holidays. Flexible monthly shift volume.
• Night Shift: 13-hour shift (6:00 PM 7:00 AM), up to 30 nights/month. Physician remains onsite for the full shift; solo overnight coverage.
• Offsite on-call is not required for either shift.
• 30-minute meal break included in shift hours.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and admit patients requiring inpatient care
• Provide daily inpatient medical management
• Manage ICU patients within the scope of Hospital Medicine privileges
• Coordinate specialty consultations
• Complete discharge planning and discharge summaries
• Arrange transfers to higher levels of care when medically indicated
• Participate in multidisciplinary patient care activities
• Respond to facility communications within 1 hour during business hours

Qualifications

• Completed residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (Family Medicine candidates must demonstrate sufficient inpatient hospitalist training/experience)
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2+ years of hospital medicine experience preferred (recent residency graduates with strong hospitalist training considered case by case)
• Ability to complete required credentialing, privileging, and security requirements prior to start

Pay & Compensation

• $200/hour, one flat rate inclusive of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Paid for actual hours worked and approved
