Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform general and cardiac nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical procedures using Digirad equipment.

Details

• Nuclear Medicine Department within Radiology providing diagnostic and therapeutic services for inpatient, outpatient, and ED patients
• Services include general and cardiac nuclear medicine, therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, and specialty exams using Digirad equipment
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:30 PM, with same-day inpatient studies when clinically appropriate
• Weekend on-call and after-hours coverage required to support inpatient, outpatient, and ED needs
• Must perform procedures within individual competencies and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher from an ARRT-recognized institution or JRCNMT-accredited program, or graduate of a military Nuclear Medicine Program
• Active license through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required if applicable
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia, Arrhythmia, or ECG course required
• Certification by NMTCB or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine required
• Strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging techniques
• Proficiency operating gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine equipment
• Commitment to radiation safety practices and compliance with regulatory standards
• No prior nuclear medicine experience required

Additional Information

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to prescribed protocols and guidelines
• Operate gamma cameras and specialized imaging equipment to capture and process diagnostic images
• Analyze nuclear medicine images and collaborate with radiologists and physicians on diagnosis and treatment planning
• Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate radiation dose records
• Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
• Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, radiopharmaceutical doses, imaging parameters, and image interpretations
• Participate in ongoing education, training programs, and staff orientation activities
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
