General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Mission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator to support our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this Registered Nurse role, you will coordinate and oversee the delivery of general medical nursing care, ensuring that each patient receives safe, evidence-based, and compassionate treatment in a truly patient-centered environment. The General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for performing comprehensive nursing assessments, developing and updating individualized care plans, and closely monitoring patient progress throughout the continuum of care. You will coordinate daily patient flow, including admissions, discharges, and transitions between levels of care, prioritizing needs to support optimal outcomes and a smooth patient experience. Leveraging your clinical expertise, you will provide triage support both in-person and through phone or electronic communication, guiding patients and families with clear, compassionate communication. In this role, you will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, and support staff to ensure integrated, high-quality care in a fast-paced general medicine setting. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), uphold regulatory and organizational standards, and actively contribute to quality and performance improvement initiatives. As a clinical leader at the bedside, you will help shape and implement evidence-based protocols, champion patient safety and infection prevention practices, and elevate concerns when needed.
