Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups. Client communication and education. Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery. Maintain accurate medical records. Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Work with the hospital manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily operations from intake to discharge. Monitor cases and attend daily rounds to uphold high standards. Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels. Perform other duties assigned by management. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution. Current state veterinary license. DEA registration maintained. At least 1 year of veterinary practice experience. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent surgical and dental skills. Team‑oriented working ability. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care. Effective communication with staff and clients. Ability to elicit information, establish rapport, and explain treatment options. Confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed or ill pets. Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Capability for moderately physically demanding tasks. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skill in comprehensive animal examinations. Problem‑solving skills for challenges of a high‑quality veterinary hospital. Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff. Professionalism and ability to give and receive constructive feedback. Business acumen and understanding of veterinary practice management and finances. Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient decisions.
