FRUITPORT COMMUNITY SCHOOLS NOTICE OF INTENT TO EMPLOY

POSITION: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) (full time)

LOCATION: Eastern Service Unit

START DATE: Position to Begin with the 2026-27 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Full approval by the state of Michigan

REQUIREMENTS:

• Competent using a variety of technology applications.
• Comply with all Michigan Special Education law/requirements.
• Provide occupational therapy services as directed by Occupational Therapist.
• Collect, record, and report data relative to student performance on individual goals and objectives as directed by Occupational Therapist.
• Work cooperatively with Occupational Therapist, teachers, administration, students, and parents in a positive and supportive way.
• As directed by Occupational Therapist implement a variety of research-based intervention strategies, continually assessing student response to intervention
• Establish communication systems between therapist and individual buildings, teachers, and parents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or Director of Special Education.
