Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for both entry-level and experienced quality inspectors to support a modern manufacturing operation. You will perform in-process and final inspections, collaborate closely with team members across the manufacturing process, and accurately document inspection results. The position involves frequent use of precision measuring tools and computers to ensure products meet established quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections throughout the manufacturing process to verify that parts meet specified quality standards.

• Conduct final inspections on completed products to ensure they conform to all required specifications and tolerances.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with production, engineering, and other team members to address quality issues and support continuous improvement.

• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plates, and height gages to inspect parts and assemblies.

• Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine inspection requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Accurately record and maintain inspection logs, measurements, and quality documentation using computer systems.

• Identify nonconforming parts or materials and report findings according to established procedures.

• Support a safe and organized work area by following established quality and safety guidelines.

• Contribute to maintaining a high standard of workmanship, especially in a metal fabrication environment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, including working confidently with fractions and decimals.

• Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plates, and height gages for precise measurements.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine inspection criteria and tolerances.

• Ability to use computers to enter data, maintain inspection logs, and access work instructions or specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing visual and dimensional inspections.

• Experience or familiarity with inspection and quality control practices in a manufacturing environment.

• Preference for candidates with experience in a metal fabrication environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to assist with the calibration process of measuring tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.

• Experience operating FARO and Micro-VU measurement equipment or similar advanced metrology tools.

• Experience working within lean processes and participating in project improvement initiatives.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional manufacturing teams.

• Organized and disciplined approach to documentation and record-keeping for quality activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $68640.00/yr.
