Schedule : Full-Time 40 hours/week | 8:30am-5:00pm | Monday-Friday 
Department: Kresge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center | Chelsea Retirement Community | Chelsea, MI

What You’ll Do:

As a Unit Clerk at Kresge Health & Rehab Center , you’ll play an important role in keeping daily operations organized, responsive, and welcoming. You’ll serve as a key point of contact for residents, families, visitors, providers, and team members while supporting both the admissions and nursing departments.

In this role, you’ll help manage incoming calls and visitors, coordinate resident appointments and transportation, support admission and discharge processes, maintain important records and communication, and assist with a variety of administrative needs throughout the building. You’ll also work within the electronic medical record and help ensure information is accurate, current, and communicated appropriately.

This position is a great fit for someone who is organized, professional, calm under pressure, comfortable multitasking, and enjoys being a central resource for both residents and the care team .

Key Responsibilities

• Answer and direct incoming calls and greet/screen visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. 
• Support resident admissions and discharges, including paperwork, signatures, and electronic medical record updates. 
• Coordinate resident appointments and transportation as needed. 
• Maintain current resident, family, census, and other required facility information and postings. 
• Assist nursing and admissions with documentation, physician follow-up, and day-to-day administrative support. 
• Track rented equipment and help maintain accurate inventory and billing information. 
• Provide coverage for other Unit Clerks and assist the Director of Nursing with special projects as needed. 
• Participate in the weekend rotation and follow all required safety, health, and training standards.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Qualifications 

• Ability to perform job-related duties which may require lifting, standing, bending, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, and pulling
• Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance
